The 2013 Florida Bicycle Safari ended with another successful run.
Safari Director Mike Gladwin produced a great event with the help of over 60 volunteers. This is the 21st year that the club has sponsored the Safari and every year the improvements keep coming. Yoga, new speakers and games were added to the afternoon schedule to provide everyone with different activities after their ride if they didn’t want to just chill.
Many of the new and longtime participants availed themselves to the Afternoon Stretch, Cirque du Safari, the Amazing Race and a Safari Flash Mob as well as talks on Feng Shui & the Art of Bicycle Maintenance, Attracting the Life You Want From the Inside Out and Greenville Florida History. Add this to over 500 miles of quiet country roads and great food from the Dixie Grill and you have an event that can’t be beat. Even a couple of overnight rains didn’t dampen the spirits of any of the riders (unless their tents leaked). As the ride ended on Thursday, April 25th, many of the riders were commenting that they were already looking forward to next year’s ride.
