Florida Freewheelers (FFW) is Central Florida’s largest and most dynamic cycling club — a powerful community of riders who enjoy challenging themselves, building skills, and sharing great miles together. Whether you like to ride fast or take a more relaxed pace, prefer short social spins or longer endurance routes , you’ll find your place here.
We’re a social, supportive, and highly active cycling community. Members connect on weekly rides, signature weekend rides, picnic rides, charity rides, and social events — building strength, confidence, and long-lasting friendships along the way.

Ride Leadership & Training
- Members can become certified Ride Leaders — Florida Freewheelers provide all the structured training and support to help you get started.
- Access hundreds of pre-mapped routes created by FFW and enabled by Ride with GPS.

Group Rides
As a member, you gain access to all Florida Freewheeler organized rides, including:

Couch-to-Century (C2C) Program
For those looking to go the distance, our C2C program offers a structured training plan with a coach to help you complete your first 100-mile ride

CLUB-PRODUCED EVENTS
Florida Freewheelers proudly hosts two of Florida’s premier cycling events each year. While these events are open to the public and not tied to member benefits, they play a vital role in supporting our mission and the cycling community.
Florida Bicycle Safari — April
A multi-day cycling experience through North Florida (and sometimes South Georgia), featuring scenic routes, fully supported rides, plentiful SAG stops, and great food. This long-running event brings cyclists together from all over the Southeast for an unforgettable week on the road.
The Horrible Hundred — November
Our largest annual event and the club’s primary fundraiser. For over 45 years, nearly 2,000 cyclists have traveled to Clermont to take on Central Florida’s hills on 35-, 70-, and 100-mile fully supported routes, all made possible by incredible Freewheeler volunteers.
WHERE DOES YOUR MEMBERSHIP MONEY GO?
Florida Freewheelers, Inc. is a Florida non-profit corporation operated primarily by volunteers. Aside from modest stipends for our Executive Director and WebGuru, the club is run entirely through volunteer leadership. An elected volunteer Board of Directors meets every other month, and all members are welcome to attend.
Your dues help fund the essential services

Membership is intentionally affordable — $30 individual / $40 family — because the Florida Bicycle Safari and the Horrible Hundred offset much of our annual expenses. However, your dues help keep the club operating the way we all enjoy, ensuring that we can continue to provide safe and enjoyable rides, fun events, and member benefits that bring us together with other cyclists all year long.
