Slick Trail markings was created by John Appel
Sunday morning I was cycling west on the Cross Seminole Trail between the 434 overpass and the High School. Conditions were 'very wet'. I cycle thousands of miles per year and I'm very aware of wet pedestrian crossings and paint on the roads in general; including those darn plastic bubble things are crosswalks. I was just not thinking about that at the time I shouted ' on your left' and proceeded to pass two joggers. I'm guessing my speed at 12-15 mph. As soon as my front tire hit that double yellow line I went down hard. That section of Trail has the raised 'plastique' kind of marker. Now I'm out of work with a separated shoulder for 2-3 weeks. I've sent emails to Seminole County requesting a regular painted line but have had no reply. So, take care; ride safe; even on the middle of a bike trail.!
