All Florida Freewheelers rides (with the exception of the Florida Bicycle Safari and the Horrible Hundred) are free and open to members and the general public. Our ride schedule for the next 7 days is available to the public on our web site under the Rides tab.
If you’re new to cycling and/or new to the club, call the contact person listed for the ride you want. This person can give you a good idea of what to expect on the ride, such as terrain, traffic, speed, what to bring and what to wear.
Helmets are required on all Florida Freewheelers rides.
Yes. Helmets are mandatory and headphones are prohibited on any Florida Freewheelers ride.
The use of radios and sound devices is discouraged.
To join the Florida Freewheelers you must fill out the New Member Registration form and purchase our New Membership product.
Select the Join tab from top menu and then New Member Application or Click Here.
Enter in the fields as indicated and click Add To Cart, then click to View Cart. Make sure your membership product is in the cart and then click Proceed To Checkout. You can then enter your billing details. Once complete, check the box acknowledging and agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and then click Continue to Payment. On the Pay for Order page, enter your credit card information and then click the Place Order button. This will complete your order and your membership credentials on the website will be automatically assigned.
The Annual Dues are $30 Individual and $40 Family.
Once your payment has been processed you will receive an email confirmation and a separate credit card receipt.
You can now enjoy the benefits and fun of being a member of FFW.
Members can sign up and receive emails when rides get updated, canceled, etc. by following the procedure below :
First go to the Rides Calendar page or the Ride This Week page. Find the ride you would like to Register for. Click the title of that ride to proceed to the ride page.
On the ride page, scroll down below the maps and find the Register for this Ride header. Under that header you’ll see a link saying “Click here to Register for this Ride”. Click there to expand the ride registration form. Enter your name and e-mail address there to register for the ride to let the ride leader know who plans to attend.
The ride leader can then send notifications about the ride which will be automatically e-mailed to all riders registered for that ride.
We encourage all riders to register for the rides you plan to attend. This will be very helpful to ride leaders and make it easier for you to be notified about anything relating to that ride.
To renew your membership in the Florida Freewheelers you must purchase our Renew Membership product.
Select the Join tab from top menu and then click Renew Membership.
Choose your Membership type (Individual or Family), then click Add To Cart, and then follow the same purchase process detailed above under “How do I join the Florida Freewheelers?”
Once your payment has been processed you will receive an email confirmation and a separate credit card receipt.
You can now continue to enjoy the benefits and fun of being a member of FFW and your membership expiration date will extend for 1 year.
B – 17 – 21 mph: Experienced Riders Only. Be able to read a map, change a flat, and ride 20 miles non-stop.
C – 15 – 18 mph: Be able to read a map and change a flat, but don’t be upset if you get dropped.
D – 12 – 15 mph: No-Drop ride. Ride leader will make sure no rider is dropped.
S – 10 – 15 mph: Leisurely, social ride. Distance varies. Ride leader and sweep make sure no rider is dropped.

All Florida Freewheelers can access a printable membership card by visiting the Membership Card page on our site. Just log in as a member and Click Here. You can print this out and present it to bicycle shops on our Sponsors page for discounts.
You should receive your physical cards the month following your membership month or renewal month.
